Our Wedding Shots

J&S @Europe08 Day 11: Rome

2nd day in Rome. :) This day somehow seem shorter. The highlights were Vatican City, St Peter's Basilica, Sistine Chapel and Bocca della verità (the famous mouth of truth).

Breakfast at the hotel:

We reached Vatican City as early as we can. Hee.

But still so many people queueing to go in St Peter's Basilica

Some interesting sights there:

Inside St Peter's Basilica:

Us and the babies/angels! So cute!

More of the exterior:

Interesting Vatican guards' costumes.

Next we went in to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel.

Interesting spiral stairs.

Photography wasn't really allowed in the Sistine Chapel. But the feeling inside was really peaceful and we just sat there for a while admiring Michaelangelo's work. Our favourite is the Creation of Adam, right Dear?

A structure outside one of the museum gallery rooms.

Outside a nearby souvenir shop. Bought some souvenirs from this shop for our friends. The paper weight for Zhuzhu was bought here. :P

Finally for lunch. We went to this restaurant near the entrance/exit of Vatican City.

On our way to Bocca della verità, we stop by this monument which I can't remember the name. Think it symbolizes some "wedding cake".

Dear and this hooded statue

Gelato with 2 cones!

Some famous church on the hill.

Finally...Bocca della verità...took a while to find...it was actually inside a church and we had to queue quite long just to take pictures of us with our hands inside the mouth. Haha.

Pantheon

Quite interesting looking church

We decided to take a rest at an italian cafe and have some tea. But the food we chose somewhere tasted too interesting for us. Haha.

Some cute "ducks" we saw on the streets.

I can't remember how come this day somehow seem so much shorter. But I could remember we kept getting lost around the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain area. Somehow the phrase of "All roads lead to Rome" kept coming to my mind. Haha. I could somehow recall images of Dear and me walking and walking non-stop, hand in hand and talking and laughing. No pictures. But all in the mind's eye. The best pictures are those found in the mind. I think I might have mentioned this before, but despite Rome not being really famous for fashion and style as much as Milan, I really like Rome a lot. There's just something really nice and lasting about it.
