Our Wedding Shots

J&S @Europe08 Day 10: Rome

Oopsie, it's been months (gonna be a year perhaps?) since we are back from our trip and we have not finished blogging about it. I strive to finish blogging about them in the next 2 weeks. Haha...Strive...

Time is really super precious these days...Work one whole day, come back laze around, before you know it, it's time for bed...and before you know it, your alarm's ringing and you are gonna rise and shine and say "HI" to a brand new work day! Weekends can come quite quickly sometimes but they also pass even faster most of the time. Haha...That's life for a typical working adult...

Alright...remember we last mentioned about our time in Venice? I mean...REMEMBER? Haha...coz it seems ages ago when I wrote about it. Lol. The next place we went was Rome and the road to Rome was indeed not easy. We took the local Trenitalia train and it was disastrous. Apparently they took double bookings for the same seats and the local officer actually made us shift to some other seat in the middle of the night (coz it's a night train journey). It was already super uncomfortable coz the train was a rather run-down one. To make matters even more worse, the second seats we sat also rightfully belonged to some other people, so we had to change seats again. Lugging our bags twice across the narrow train alley way was simply not fun. I even resorted to scolding the Italians and a woman who knew both Italian and English was laughing her head off. I was lucky that no one who heard and understood me wanted to bash me. Thank God. But man, we were super infuriated. The moment we saw Rome approaching, we were just happy to alight from the train.

We were also extremely famished. Thankfully, it wasn't difficult to get to our hotel and then we went for breakfast nearby.

That's me in front of our Hotel Ducale.

And Dear's favourite Nutella! It's a snack and drink!

Look at the pretty red flowers!

Our nearest train station, Vittorio Emanuele.

Our first stop was the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Love Colosseum! Probably coz it was the cover of Mayday's Born to Love album. Haha. Coincidentally, we caught the movie Jumper on the plane too, which has its setting there as well. Haha. But it's really really magnificent. It's one world's wonder down for us!

We took the 1hour guided tour so as to bypass the queue. Hee, us with our headsets.

And we saw some "roman soldiers"...haha

That's my man!

Not sure if you can see it...but there's a Caucasian couple doing their wedding shoot there....so nice! But it's scorching hot too!

Hee love these shots...

Next up was the Roman Forum, which is just opposite Colosseum. It's so freaking huge! Think Dear and me really walked until wanna faint. Haha...

Humongous Roman Forum!

Oh and we saw a nice bird!

It was so hot, we got ourselves another gelato. Hee.

After which, we went back hotel to rest a while before coming out in the evening. It's good to go visit Europe in the summer months coz the days are longer. You can visit a lot of places in one day. Haha.

In the evening, we went for a nice italian dinner before going to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. Hee.
Love Rome for all its fountains!

And food!

Typical family italian restaurant

AS Roma's homeground

Our food!

Yummy Yum!

Some dessert which we couldn't make out what it was

Happy!

At the Spanish Steps

Somehow I do find something quite romantic about these steps despite the hordes of people. Haha.

And my favourite, LV!!!

Super cute bus!

Poor cow...

Trevi Fountain!!!

Lotsa these artists in Europe...

Haha, I love anything cute and interesting

Second gelato of the day...from our favourite gelato shop in Rome...Blue Ice

We went back to Trevi Fountain and Colosseum for night shots!

While on our way to Colosseum, we passed by Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II (National Monument of Victor Emmanuel II). Hee. Some nice tourist offered to take a picture for us after we tried so hard to capture a shot of ourselves with it. Can even see the moon!

Colosseum at night...

Love this pic. Hee.

At the train station, going back...saw a graffiti "stained" train. Nice.

Never will see this in SG.

What a day! Fruitful! Hee... Not to mention, our Rome hotel was cosy and nice. Hee.

And our mac supper! :)
Beginning to really really miss Rome!
