Our Wedding Shots

J&S @Europe08 Day 4: Paris

We took a short 2-hour flight by EasyJet from London Luton to Paris Charles de Gaulle. These Europe inter-city short flights are really convenient and cheap. Hee. Basically we just slept through the flight so it's fine without any in-flight entertainment or food.

EasyJet plane.

Going to the land of LV and Eiffel (and of coz many more!)

Arrival at CDG T2.

Our Paris hotel - Hotel Bruxelles et du Nord.

We took super long to locate our hotel...after which we were really famished! We settled for food at a nearby cafe.

This is the Kebab and Crepes cafe we had our first Paris meal at.

Our food! Hee...some kebabs set. Actually got another panini but I don't think we got a closed-up shot of it. Nvm, this is more special!

A nice shot inside the cafe. Notice the coke. We grew to love coke more especially during hot days there.

The exterior of the Gare du Nord station. It's the station nearest to our hotel where we start our journey to anywhere from. It's a major station so there are a lot of shops there too. Just like London Victoria. So it's really convenient.

We started our Paris sight-seeing by going to the Sacré-Cœur and Montmarte areas.

Me and my favourite musical box! I didn't buy them when I went Paris last time. So this time round I made sure I bought them. Hee. I bought some as gifts to friends while I got my favourite french song tune (La Vie En Rose) for myself. Heehee.

The postcard equivalent picture of Sacré-Cœur taken by Dear!

Hee I love carousels! Here's one we saw beneath the Sacre Coeur!

And we took a ride on it!

My Prince Charming on his white horse. (我的白马王子!)

And Dear's Princess? (白雪公主?)Haha!

As Sacré-Cœur is located at the summit of the butte Montmartre (Montmartre butte), the highest point in the city, it's really a nice picture point.

Here are some nice shots of us there:

Really like the green grass element. Hee.

I like the stairs too. But not when we have to climb lots of them to get up on such a hot day! Haha.

Us just outside the Basilica back facing the scenery beneath.

After going in the Basilica to view the interior as well as have a brief rest, we slowly made our way down. The next stop was the Moulin Rouge. I thought of taking the metro, but the local at the tourist info guide told us we should just walk there coz it's really near. The result? We walked and walked for ages under the hot sun before we finally found it.

So much effort for this picture. Lol.

After our Montmarte adventure, we went back hotel room to rest before coming out again for Champs-Élysées area!

We had a light snack at Pomme du Pain...it's a pastry cafe...Pain actually means bread in french...But as the bill was rather costly, we felt it's really a Pain to eat from there. Haha.

Champs-Élysées is a high-end shopping street in Paris. There you'll find the main Louis Vuitton shop.

Me with my favourite LV building!

The Arc de Triomphe is an iconic Triumphal arch in Paris, France that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the Place de l'Étoile (Star Square).

A picture of us with the magnificant arch.

Dear and his Virgin Megastore building. He likes companies with interesting business strategies and I think VR is one of them, I think Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are some others. Right Dear? I hope I said correctly. Haha.

After walking along the shopping street, we decided to keep walking to explore the neighbour streets which happen to have many branded shops too.

A nice scenery we saw along the way.

We kept walking until we saw Tour Eiffel! Haha.

We had to queue for some time before we could get up the Eiffel. But it was all worth the wait the moment we got up and had a wonder view of the city.

I love such shots! Back facing pretty scenery!

It's a wise choice to go up the Eiffel in the evening just before the sun sets, so we can take both day and night shots there. Hehe. It's really a beautiful sight and feeling, the moment the entire Eiffel was lit up. In fact all the major Paris monuments are being lit up every night. So the view from where we were at the top of the Eiffel is simply breath-taking.

The Caucasian guys who helped us take this picture kept teasing us that we smiled so sweetly. Haha.

Oh one bad thing about going up at that timing was the weather began to turn cold. It was super hot in the day! But once night falls, the winds were unbearably cold! And what were we wearing? Shorts and berms! And no jackets! The winds were so strong too! The feeling was as though we were gonna be blown away, if not frozen to death. Haha.

We really tried our best to linger as long as we could (bear!!) up at the Eiffel before deciding to make our way down. I guess other people also wanna get down quickly like us at that point of time coz we actually queued very long to even get into the lift. Haha.

Some last shots at the Eiffel:

We rushed to the nearest RER station to take train back to Gare du Nord. It was such a painstakingly long wait for one train to even come at that hour. Once at Gare du Nord, walking back to our hotel was another challenge. Haha. Due to the cold! Lol.

In fact, that first evening marks the beginning of us enduring the cold and strong winds in Paris. It was really not hot anymore in the next 2 days we spent in Paris. Haha.
