Our Wedding Shots

J&S @Europe08 Day 1: London

Immediately after touching down at London Heathrow, we were full of energy! That was despite enduring a long flight. We immediately set off to Victoria, to our hotel.

Victoria Train Station

Here's us in front of the Victoria underground station sign. All the tube stations have this similar sign with their names in the middle. It's a very distinct sign when you are looking for a tube station! It's also a very unique symbol that reminds us of London!

Next up we went to Buckingham Palace to witness the Changing of Guards that happens everyday. However, due to the Queen's birthday soon, we actually got a glimpse of the Celebrations Parade rehearsal. There were officials in their various uniforms. And I really think England has very interesting official outfits. Haha. They are also very willing to take pictures with us!

We saw some interesting things to take pictures with along the way!

City Harvest in London??? Hee...

Dear loves to pose such shots!

Cute DUCKS! =)

This is a policeman which we approached to help us take photo but instead began to pose to take photo with us and we had to ask his colleague to help the 3 of us take the picture. Maybe too many tourists approach them to take pictures that they are used to it already!

We are proud of the Union Jack Flag!

Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Monument

Pictures of the Parade:

The entire area where the Parade took place smells of horse dung/shit man. Haha. And we actually witness a horse peeing in front of us! Look at the puddle of pee beneath that horse!

Yikeeess!

The Parade was rather long and we were starting to get bored so we moved on to the Westminster area.

The Westminster Abbey.

Pictures with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament:

We witnessed some protest too! It was super orderly with police guiding the marching contingents. LOL.

We saw a lot of people queueing to take picture with this horse guard and we went for one too!

The London Eye! A day shot with it.

After covering Westminster area, we went to Bond and Oxford streets to shop and relax.

We had tea time at our favourite cafe - PAUL!

We chose to sit outside the cafe to people watch. While stoning, something caught our attention. A youngster suddenly came and snatch the purse of a lady sitting beside us. He just ran, grab and go. All in a flash! And the lady's reflexes were damn fast too, she screamed and ran after him immediately. The people in the entire area were stunned, including us. Dear was saying he almost wanna leave his stuffs lying on the table but thank God he did not. That sort of gave us a fierce warning that we should guard our belongings carefully and not take things for granted.

The lady did not manage to get back her purse, but the people in the neighbouring tables were really friendly to ask her how was it. Overall, London gives me a very warm feeling. But it can still be rather unsafe, considering such a grab-and-go-case happening in broad daylight in the main shopping street.

A super small and vintage-looking car.

We roamed around Embankment area before heading back to our hotel and out again. There we saw PWC! Think it is some office area.

At night, we went to Tate Modern at Blackfriars area. I like that area. It's a more quiet area as compared to Westminster. The famous London Bridge is in this area too.

A shot by Dear. He likes to take artistic shots. Hee.

Somehow this scene has been the main image of London for me since young. Maybe it's something I keep seeing in TV and pictures.

We found a straight bus back to Victoria from Blackfriars.

Tired and happy us.

We wanted to find food near our hotel but most of the shops were closed by the time we were back. So, we settled for Mcdonalds. Haha. We decided we ought to try the Mac in every place we go! :)

Our Mac dinner!
