Our Wedding Shots

James - Last Sunday

Alrite! Faithful readers of our blog, no prizes for guessing what this entry will be about! It's none other than.... FOOD! tee hee hee! we're such gluttons!

Last Sunday, after service ended, we went off to Bugis to pick up a pair of slippers Dear ordered. Thereafter, we had our lunch at the food court on the 3rd floor. Really a nice place to have lunch at. I feel the standards of our local foodcourts are increasing, food court operators like Food Republic and Food Junction are putting in more effort on the decor and thus creating pleasant surroundings for customers to have their meals in.

We decided to have Korean food. I sometimes wonder, are we truely having authentic Korea/Jap food at food courts? I guess most of the time, these 'so-called' korean/jap recipes are modified and tweaked to accomodate the locals' palates and purse strings.

Nonetheless, here's what we ordered!

My BBQ Chicken was yummy. It goes well with rice. Not too oily too.
(btw i realize i love kimchi)
Dear's Saba Fish was really fresh and tasty. Even non fish lovers like me can also feel its goodness.

Talking about korean food, reminds me of something. My Dear is very cute, she likes to conjure up unique ways of pronouncing certain words. It really cracks me up when she says them... I love teasing her about it!

Here's a few examples:

Mantou(Steamed Buns) would become ... BUN TOU
Wikipedia would become ... WINKI-pedia
Snuffleupagus would become ... Snufflesaurus
Hog's Breath would become ... Hoggorts (???)
Bi Bim Bab (Korean mixed rice in a pot) would become ... BI BA BOO!

HEE HEE

After lunch, we headed for Dear's school to mug for our exams... all the way until 8plus at night. Until our tummies cannot tolerate it no longer. Took a long bus ride all the way to Old Airport Road Food Centre.

The place has been completely overhauled and it looks absolutely awesome. Plenty of seats, well ventilated and clean! Even though it was quite late when we arrived and a good number of stalls were closed, but still, when i stepped into the place, I felt like a kid stepping into a toy store!! So many stalls selling glorious food! We were literally spoilt for choice! Although we had a minor problem, which stall to try?? ARGGH

Here's our choices in the end...

SHIOK! Soup was infused with intense flavour by the sweet and juicy prawns. Can just tell by looking at the colour of the broth! Dear totally enjoyed this!

Carrot cake was surprisingly good! Not overly oily nor salty. Large serving with lotsa egg too!
Satay was alrite. Looks quite healthy. The more modern kind that is catered for health conscious Singaporeans ie. less fatty meat on the sticks, compromises on the flavor in my opinion.
Yicky papaya with milk. Taste odd. Texture also weird weird. Didn't really enjoy it. Too bad no more Ah Balling (Rice Dumpling with Peanut Soup) left and then don't know what to order. Burps again.

Wanna revisit this place to try other food. Anyone wanna join us?? You won't be disappointed!hehehe
