James - Eat and eat and eat Part 3

Wow, I realized the amount of gluttonous behaviour we've been having for the past few outings. Been eating and eating and eating. Gosh, I feel a part of my abdomen has certainly benefitted from all this eating!

Well, to eat is a blessing itself. And it's definitely a double portion of joy to eat with your girlfriend/boyfriend by your side :)

After our exploits in far 'EAST' plaza, we decided to venture into the WEST for some delicious and yummy food! Our next stop was Holland Village (Buona Vista Area)

Had wanted to bring Dear to sample the famous XO Fish Bee Hoon stall in Buona Vista for a long time. Since we happened to be around that area, the door of opportunity opened for me to bring her there! When got off at Buona Vista MRT and told her about the plans, she told me to my dismay that a friend told her that the stall has closed down! I was really saddened to hear that.

Nevertheless, I went to recce around for other places to eat. I reached the coffeeshop where the XO Fish Bee Hoon was supposed to be and to my astonishment IT WAS STILL THERE!! Thank God the information was inaccurate! I immediately called Dear and promptly guided her over.

XO Fish Bee Hoon came with huge chunks of fish in it. Even though I'm not a fish lover, but I enjoyed the fish as it was fresh and lacked any fishy smell. The XO soup base was the milky white kind. It hardly emanated any XO smell when you brought it to your nose, but the moment the soup hits your taste buds, the potent liquor flavor was absolutely 'intoxicating.' The creator of this dish is really smart, making use of alcohol to enhance the flavor of this modest, unassuming dish.

The San Lao Hor Fun is my favorite dish at that stall. I really liked the texture of this dish, when you bite into the soft rice noodles accompanied with the crunchy chives and beansprouts the sensory flow would be from feeling then followed by taste and smell.. it was glorious...

The side order of Prawn Paste Chicken was lip-smackingly fried to a crisp and contained a strong prawn essence. The chilli sauce that came with it was awesome. Any other bottled chilli sauces simply wouldn't cut it. It was like a divine partnership.

After dinner, we made a bee-line to our next destination.
Cutting through a few blocks of flats, we reached Holland Village. We feel this is a really vibrant district. Lively, with all the eateries and coffee joints, with a few quaint little shops scattered here and there, Holland Village in my opinion is the closest we can get to an actual village in Singapore.

Cold Rock Ice Creamery beckons! This place recommended by Paulie, allows you to create your own icecream combination. You pick your icecream flavor and your toppings from a wide variety, and the friendly staff there will mash the ingredients together upon a frosty cold stone. And there you go! Your very own icecream creation!

We choosed White Chocolate Ice Cream + Boysenberry Ice Cream + Rocky Road + Mars Bar

This is the end result!
