Our Wedding Shots

James - Ali Cafe

After a totally enjoyable time last night, the lovers met up again today!

I went over to meet Dear for dinner after work, we decided to give this eatery off Haig Road a try. The name of the place as the entry title suggests is.... none other than.... Ali Cafe!

Here is the place.

Lemme describe it more explicitly. Ali Cafe (opened by ALI I presume! DUH!) is a small and cozy Muslim eatery serving the predominantly Muslim community around the Geylang Serai/Eunos area. The menu at Ali Cafe consists of a variety of Muslim food, ranging from Nasi/Mee Goreng to Western styled dishes like Beef Steak and Fish and Chips.

We were quite worried that they would take very long to serve the food because we didn't want to be late for CG. Luckily they were quite fast (around 10 minutes)

Here's us, taken while waiting for our food!

Dear's Chicken Steak.

Looks scrumptious huh! The 2 scoops of mash potatoes is drizzled with plenty of thick brown gravy. The chicken steak certainly looks appetizing when served on a hot sizzling plate! Apparently its quite popular amongst the patrons there, we saw/heard a lot of sssssssizzling plates there.

I went for the Half Spring Chicken.

The chicken was tender and crispy, the fries are not bad too, not soggy or too salty. Although, the ONE Terrible Mistake they made was that they put green peas in the coleslaw! WALAO, who puts green peas in coleslaw?! I seriously hate peas. I abhore them. I detest them. I really really really think they are the most disgusting things on this planet!

ok i gotta calm downnnn...

Anyway to sum up, overall the food was not bad, affordable too. Service was amiable and prompt. Nice place to give a try if you're in the vicinity!
