We've been super busy lately, alright, that's a very poor excuse. So in order to make up for that, I present to you a long post with many pictures!
First up,
One evening, we went to have dinner at this coffeeshop at Parkway, near NTUC.

It's the usual place we get our Teochew Porridge fix whenever we get a feeling of eating less sinful food and go for some simple food. Don't really need much explanation, Teochew porridge is not a complicated affair, just dishes and rice.
Rice/Porridge with Salted veggies, Ladyfingers, Egg fried with turnip, Thai style chicken and fishcake.
We ordered a can of Whatever and finally! We got something other than Lemon Tea! We managed to get Apple Tea! Whoopee!
One evening, Dear and myself decided to have dinner at the Golden Mile Food Centre (aka the Army Market Food Centre) at Beach Road one night after work. After contemplating what to eat, we decided to order the famous Beach Road Claypot Rice. I once ever tried ordering from this stall, but to my dismay, the stallkeeper told me I had to wait at least HALF an HOUR it! It has probably got to do with the long cooking time and long queues.
Fortunately for us, the auntie had a few spare pots of claypot rice standing-by. So when I ordered, we could get it instantly!
*Pictorial Guide on How to eat Claypot Rice for Dummies*
STEP ONE:
Once the claypot rice is served, admire the beauty and marvel at the myriad of colours. It's quite a sensory experience you know?

*Note to Dummies: Please do not caress the claypot. WHY?? Because it is HOT!*
STEP TWO:
ATTACK/STIR the claypot rice with gusto! If you feel the rice is not dark/fragrant enough, don't fret! Simply add more dark soya sauce and sesame oil!

*Note to Dummies: Please use supplied ladle and not your bare hands to stir*
STEP THREE:
Savor the completed masterpiece... Enjoy the crisp taste of the rice coupled with the irresistable fragrance of the dark soya sauce, the contrasting sweetness and saltiness of the chinese sausages and the salted fish. The crunchy vegetables add an extra bite and lend a healthy touch to this big mixed pot of tasty treasures!

*Note to Dummies: Don't just enjoy this all by yourself! Get a partner or have it in a group! Nothing beats sharing a pot of rice with someone close *grinz*
Next up, possibly one of the nicest things I've eaten so far this year!
This is something that I have been dreaming day after day after tasting it. The very next day I confessed to Dear, 'I'm still craving for it, I can't get it outta my mind'
I chanced upon a review on this stall Sweet Stone Parad'ice on a blog earlier, and thought to myself, that's an interesting concept! An Angmoh and a local collaborating to sell Belgian Waffles in a hawker centre! Walking pass, it's impossible not to be drawn by the aroma of freshly baked goodness wafting out from that stall. It's the kind of smell that would stop you in your tracks.

Therefore, there is no way we could have possible left the place without having a taste of these babies! So we ordered a waffle and paired it with a Banana gelato.

HOW CAN SOMETHING TASTE SO DIVINE!????
Upon your first bite of this waffle, your lips first feel the crispiness of the crust and take in the wholesome and buttery scent emanating from it. Next, your tongue senses the warm insides of the waffle, soft, moist and chewy. I was secretly wishing that some molten chocolate would oooze out after biting into it.
You HAVE to eat it together with some gelato of your choice. The combination of the warm waffle together with the cold smooth gelato will drive you wild(I could taste bits of banana in the gelato!) After all, this delectable treat simply tentalizes not just your tastebuds but tickles your imagination too! After you come back down to Earth from Waffle Heaven, you are left with a indescribable heartwarming and homely sensation!
Opened by a Belgian and a local, the stall offers a variety of sets e.g chocolate fondue w/ waffle or chocolate fondue with fruits/marshmellows/diced waffles. Another interesting point, they even have a loyalty card system where every purchase is awarded loyalty points where you can use the points to redeem more waffles or gelato!
AWESOME!!
The stall deserves a mention.....
